About South Bark Dog Wash
Our mission is to provide a place where dog lovers can congregate. The South Bark ideology focuses on creating quality bonding time between human and dog companions. We have created a spa like atmosphere which is friendly, affordable, and dog and cat centered. We offer self-serve wash tubs, organic shampoo and conditioners, drying stations, pet food, toys, and retail items. All of our wash packages come with complementary aroma therapeutic cleansing blueberry facials, and softening grooming spray and silk extract. South Bark is housed in a gorgeously renovated fifties style building. The brick and wood decked outside patio area is used for training, brushing, socialization, and special events. Handcrafted wood and metal fencing and bistro green colored walls covered with blooming plants surround the property. A doggie excretion area is provided for use if needed. South Bark easily transcends into a place that your dog will love to visit. We provide everything you need except the dog .You will enjoy washing luxury from start to finish for you and your pets maximum enjoyment. We understand the challenges of pet companionship, and would like to provide resources and networking services to make your life with your companion even more rewarding. Meet the Owner(s)
Established in San Diego of October 2000, Donna Walker and Lisa Vella own South Bark Dog Wash, an award winning self- service dog wash, retail store for cats and dogs, and training center for dogs. Donna F. Walker retired honorably after 20 years as a Chief Photographers Mate and filmmaker for the United States Navy. She also holds a BS degrees in Liberal Arts with a concentrate in Film, Video, Radio and Television. She is also a Registered Veterinary Technician and has a degree in Animal Health Technology. Lisa comes from a successful business family background. She has extensive knowledge and training within animal obedience and nutrition. Lisa is also a Professor of Photography for San Diego City College. She holds a BS in Photography and a Masters degree in Educational Technology. Lisa and Donna belong to many professional and neighborhood organizations. They are both passionate about being a locally owned and operated business. Donna and Lisa are directly responsible for the co-development of a popular product and process, " South Bark ‘s Blueberry Facial®" and other successful private label items that are sold for retail and wholesale.
