My wife, along with a friend/neighbor, talked the night away with participants lamenting over what makes a root beer truly great. We went through three cases, 3oz shots at a time. My wife reports that the Soux City Sas was the winner. And last but not least, was the release of the newest S.L.O.B. shirt, which we sold a whole bunch off. We were able to meet and sign up several new community members and made some connections on a couple potential new businesses. But even after 7 years in the business, I still met several neighbors that had never even knew I existed. They've live in the hood for years in some casses and for whatever reason never turned down my street or saw my adds. Just think about all they've been missing. Sure, they know were I am now, and are looking forward to shopping and enjoying my little locally owned business, but I wonder how many other little neighborhood jewels they are missing out on just because they come and go through the neighborhood the same way each day. This reaffirms my belief that we need a place to go to find these little jewels and that's exactly what imaslob.org offers. I feel very encouraged!!! Stay tuned for more and let your friends know about us. Tell your cool, locally owned businesses owner friends about us, tell your family. The more the merrier!!! - joe grant - slob and chief
News | S.L.O.B.™ Blog | Oct 3rd Phase one release of imaslob.org
:D phase one launch went off without a hitch.. in concert with Grant's Marketplace's 7 year anniversary, the festivities were outstanding. The music, the Tail Draggeres, were great. Excellent musicianship and fun lyricks. The vegan soup was delicious, the punkin sale provided by Suzie's farm, a new venture partnering up with Grant's to sell local farm fresh and organic goods, was a hit with the kids.
